Estimation Tools

We have provided three calculators below to help you estimate the amount of Bright Futures you may receive, the amount you may have to pay back if you drop a class, and to determine whether you will maintain eligibility for Bright Futures renewal. To access each calculator, click on the name of the calculator below under "Other Calculators" or click the > icon to move from one calculator to another. 

Bright Futures Calculator Definitions:

1. Payment Calculator - Use the payment calculator to estimate the amount of Bright Futures you are expected to receive based on the number of hours you are enrolled in. The panel on the left represents estimations for Academic Scholars (100%) and the panel on the right represents estimations for Medallion Scholars (75%). Reminder: You must enroll in at least 6 credit hours to be eligible for Bright Futures unless you are approved for an underload by the Office of Financial Aid. 

2. Repayment Calculator - When a student drops a class that was funded by Bright Futures the amount of the award must be returned to the State. Use this calculator to estimate the amount of Bright Futures that will need to be returned to the State based on the number of hours you are dropping. The panel on the left represents estimations for Academic Scholars (100%) and the panel on the right represents estimations for Medallion Scholars (75%). 

3. Renewal Calculator (Temporarily Unavailable) - By law, students must complete the number of courses for which they have been funded. Use the Renewal Calculator to estimate whether you will continue eligibility for renewal based on the number of hours you have been funded for vs. the number of hours you have completed.
